Jake Barr

Retired Global Director, Supply Network Operations – Procter & Gamble
Having completed a 33-year career with the Procter & Gamble Company, Jake became a principal and CEO with BlueWorld Supply Chain Consulting LLC., where he now provides consulting support to a cross section of top Fortune 500 companies.
During his tenure with P&G he directed the Global Supply Network Design efforts, in addition to being the discipline Director for Supply Network Operations.
Jake began his career with P&G in Finance in Risk Analysis and then moved into Operations. He has worked across the breadth of P&G’s business units during his career. One of the architects for P&G’s demand driven supply strategy, this work has become the key enabler to P&G’s efforts to make the consumer and shopper the primary focus of the supply network. He has experience in building supply network capability globally through leadership assignments in Asia, Latin America and North America.
Led business transformation project which reengineered P&G’s end to end planning operations (5,000+ employees) into eight world class integrated planning centers generating nearly $500MM in ongoing savings and next generation.
He currently serves as:

Kyle Beatty is Senior Vice President of product vision and market engagement at Atmospheric and Environmental Research (AER) which provides weather- and climate-related risk management and decision-support products and services for supply chain, insurance and reinsurance, energy and investment vertical markets.
Before joining AER, Mr. Beatty worked with Willis Re, where he led a team of catastrophe analysts serving North American property/casualty insurers and functioned as the analytical advocate for multiple U.S. brokerage accounts. Before joining Willis, Mr. Beatty worked for Risk Management Solutions (RMS), where he directed a global team of model managers in the launch and support of catastrophe models and products. Mr. Beatty earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Oklahoma.

Lora Cecere – In February 2012, I started my own research firm Supply Chain Insights, which is paving new directions in building thought-leading supply chain research. Our research is designed for the early adopter seeking first mover advantage. Prior work experience includes 30 years of diverse supply chain experience. This includes 9 years as an industry analyst with Gartner Group, AMR Research, and Altimeter Group, 15 years as a leader in the building of supply chain software at Manugistics and Descartes Systems Group, and several years as a supply chain practitioner at Procter & Gamble, Kraft/General Foods, Clorox, and Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream (now a division of Nestlé). My first book Bricks Matter was published in December 2012 and now has 15 five-star reviews posted on Amazon.com. I am also the author of the enterprise software blog Supply Chain Shaman. The blog focuses on the use of enterprise applications to drive supply chain excellence. As an enterprise strategist, I focus on the changing face of enterprise technologies.
Education includes B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennslyvania, I have also completed post-graduate work in organizational development from Georgetown University. Certifications include APICS CIRM and CPIM and is a past teacher of effective marketing concepts for software executives in the Pragmatic Marketing program.
I have a true passion for gardening, textiles of all types (quilting, knitting, and weaving), photography and dancing. I also enjoy building my home on a farm in West Virginia.

Karen Conway
Karen Conway – As executive lead for industry relations at GHX, Karen Conway works internationally with standards bodies, government agencies, analyst firms, academic institutions, and industry associations to help healthcare suppliers and providers identify opportunities to optimize supply chain operations and improve business and clinical performance.
Karen previously served as principal of Conway Associates, a strategic communications firm built on the principles of continuous quality improvement and work conducted by her business partner with Procter & Gamble and Wal-Mart. She has also worked as a journalist and a lobbyist.
Conway serves on the boards of AHRMM, the supply chain organization for the American Hospital Association, and the ASU Health Sector Supply Chain Research Consortium, and as co-chair of the HIMSS Supply Chain Special Interest Group.
Karen was a contributing author for the book “e-Business in Healthcare” (Springer, 2007) and co-wrote “Leading on the Edge” to be published by ASTD Press this fall.

Patrick Curry
Patrick Curry – Patrick is currently the Director of Supply Chain Talent Development and University Relations at IBM. In this role he is responsible for all aspects of ISC Employee Development and maintaining positive relationships and presence with selected Universities.
Prior to being named in his current position Patrick served in various roles in IBM’s Integrated Supply Chain. His most recent assignment was Executive Assistant for Fran O’Sullivan, General Manager for IBM’s Integrated Supply Chain.
Joining IBM in 2001, Patrick rotated in Process Re-engineering, Corporate Audit, and Connectivity Sourcing. In 2004 Patrick took over as the US Sourcing Operations Manager for Business and Subcontract Services where he managed a team of US and India
Between 2006 and 2008 Patrick worked on an International Assignment in Tokyo, Japan. After leaving the Telecom Chair position Patrick served as a Sr. Managing Consultant.
Patrick has an MBA Degree from Wake Forest University’s Babcock School of Management and a B.S. Degree from North Carolina A&T State University.

John Davies – John heads up research efforts for GreenBiz Group and leads the GreenBiz Executive Network, a member-based, peer-to-peer learning forum for sustainability professionals. The network is made up of senior executives from $1B+ corporations working together to share best practices and lessons learned for implementing sustainable development programs. John is an experienced entrepreneur and innovator who has applied his business and management skills to launching start-ups as well as improving the operations of existing businesses. John is a frequent keynote speaker at international events, is well-known for his supply chain and sustainability expertise and is the author of numerous articles in business, industry, and educational publications. Stephen F. DeAngelis is a technology and supply chain sector entrepreneur and patent holder with more than 25 years of experience in operating technology and manufacturing companies. In 2012, Forbes magazine recognized him as one of the “Top Influencers in Big Data.” In December 2006, Mr. DeAngelis was recognized as one of Esquire magazine’s “Best and Brightest” honorees as “The Innovator.” In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he has worked with Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, and National Laboratories on technology and national security matters. Nancy Gillis
Sr Manager, Sustainable Procurement, Supply Chains, System Dynamics at Ernst & Young
Nancy has 15+ years experience resolving systems challenges for public and private sector organizations. Most recently, Nancy served as the Director of the Federal Supply Chain office within the Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) of the General Services Administration (GSA), the US Federal Government procurement agency which oversees $66 billion of procurement annually. At GSA she was responsible for developing supplier sustainability requirements for use in federal procurements, as well as developing the guidelines for use of non-mandated product standards/labels. She launched the government-wide Sustainability in Procurement Fellowship program and the Sustainable Supply Chain Community of Practice, a public/private partnership that identified best practices for addressing material impacts in a number of priority market sectors. Prior to her appointment to GSA, Ms. Gillis worked on supply chain risk, resiliency and security; inclusion of small and medium enterprises in global supply chains; critical infrastructure resiliency; and data system access and security policy issues at organizations such as National Academy of Sciences, The Nature Conservancy and the National Institutes of Health. She holds a graduate degree from Georgetown and is a student of complex adaptive systems, having spent time at the Santa Fe Institute.

Dr. Mani Janakiram – Dr. Mani Janakiram is a Principal Engineer and Director of Supply Chain Strategy & Analytics at Intel Corporation. For 14 years he managed several strategic projects in factory operations, capacity planning, process control, analytics, strategy, supplier management, factory science and supply chain. Additionally, he had 22+ years in the Hi-tech, Automotive and Aerospace industries. Prior to Intel, he worked at Honeywell and Motorola in operations, strategy, systems, analytics, manufacturing, research, planning, etc. Mani holds two patents and published 50+ papers on supply chain, statistical modeling, capacity modeling, data mining, factory operations research and process control. Mani is an adjunct professor at Arizona State University, school of Business and a visiting lecturer at MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. Mani holds PhD; M.S. in Industrial & Systems Engineering; MBA; and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Joe Krkoska – is Supply Chain Director and Business Manufacturing Leader for External Mfg Dow AgroSciences.
He started his career with The Dow Chemical Company in 1983 in the Research Assignments Program. He spent 17 years in Midland, Michigan (location of Dow global headquarters and it Michigan Operations site) in various assignments in Research and Development (R&D), Technical Sales and Development (TS&D), capital projects and manufacturing.
He was named site leader in Kings Lynn, England and Business Manufacturing Leader for fungicides with manufacturing sites in France,Brazil,South Africa,ColombiaandChina. In 2007, Joe moved to Indianapolis with global responsibility for Formulations and Packaging operations, Fumigants, and External Manufacturing activity. In 2009, he moved to his current role as Supply Chain Director for Dow AgroSciences.
Mr. Krkoska is a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering 1983, and serves on the Industrial and Professional Advisory Council for the Department of Chemical Engineering while also overseeing Dow recruiting Team efforts at Penn State.

Philippe Lambotte
Philippe Lambotte – Since 2011, Philippe is working at Merck Inc. and has led both the Supply Chain Management organization with a global responsibility for product planning, capacity and sourcing for the company’s human health, vaccines and consumer care business. He also oversaw Merck’s worldwide distribution and logistics network that supports the company’s extensive research, marketing and manufacturing activities.
Philippe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liege, Belgium and a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Previously, Philippe worked for Kraft Foods, where he last served as Senior Vice President, Customer Service and Logistics. His expertise includes driving cost savings while realizing industry-leading customer service levels and implementing complex demand driven customer centric supply chains in many countries working collaboratively with retailers and distributors.
Previous to Kraft Foods, Philippe was working for Procter & Gamble and responsible for Manufacturing Commercialization of Disposable Products in Europe based in Germany.

General Manager for IBM’s Integrated Supply Chain
Fran O’Sullivan – Fran O’Sullivan is the general manager for IBM’s Integrated Supply Chain, which encompasses all aspects of the company’s global supply chain, customer fulfillment and global supply (procurement, manufacturing and logistics) operations, and contributes annual savings of $6.5 billion to IBM.
Ms. O’Sullivan was named to this position in September 2010, after serving as senior vice president of Product Group, Lenovo, where she was responsible for the award-winning ThinkPad notebooks and Think personal computers. Prior to that, she was general manager of IBM’s Personal Computer division. She left IBM in 2005 as part of the Lenovo divestiture.
Over her career with IBM and Lenovo, Ms. O’Sullivan held a number of development and management positions. She began her career with IBM with an assignment with NASA’s Space Shuttle Program in Cape Kennedy, Florida. She then moved to IBM’s personal computer business, where she held leadership roles in development, engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and business operations.
Ms. O’Sullivan graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and serves on the University of Virginia Engineering Industry Advisory Board. She also serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Coastal Pines Girl Scouts.

Jeremiah Owyang is an Industry Analyst on Customer Strategy and a Partner at Altimeter Group. As author of the blog “Web Strategy” (rated by Edelman as top Analyst Blog since 2008), he focuses on how corporations connect with their customers using web technologies. Jeremiah hails previously from Forrester Research as a Senior Analyst focused on Social Computing for the Interactive Marketer and takes pride in launching and managing Hitachi Data Systems’ Social Media program in 2005–2007. Jeremiah, along with the Customer Strategy team, has published numerous research reports focused on social business. He has been frequently quoted in theWall Street Journal, The New York Times, and USA Today, and he is a frequent keynote speaker at business and technology conferences around the world. He also served as the Intranet Architect at World Savings (now Wells Fargo) and was a user experience professional at Exodus Communications after receiving his Marketing bachelor’s degree at SFSU. Vincent Pizziconi, Ph.D.
Vincent Pizziconi, Ph.D.– Vincent Pizziconi’s research focuses on the development of molecular, cellular and tissue strategies to develop bioresponsive and biomimetic materials for the biohybrid diagnostic and medical devices, and engineered cell and tissue systems. He will be speaking on the use of 3-D printing for custom medicine, organ and cell regeneration, and the changing nature of clinical trials. Mr. Pizziconi holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Arizona State University, a M.S.E from Arizona State University, and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.

Tony Romero -Tony is the GM of the Customer Fulfillment, Planning and Logistics Group (CPLG) for Intel Corporation. CPLG is responsible for the supply chain, business management and logistics functions for Intel products.
Tony joined Intel in 1990 and has held numerous positions across Intel’s supply chain. He spent his first 9 years working in Fab Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering. In 1999, Tony moved to Assembly and Test and worked within the Industrial Engineering and Planning organizations. In 2006, he took the position leading the overall ATM Supply Planning organization and in 2010, he became the Director of Supply Planning Operations and in 2012 he became the General Manager of CPLG. In this last role, he has led a world-wide organization of 650 employees, owning and executing Intel’s supply strategy in partnership with the company’s other Supply Chain groups.

Bruno Sarda – As director of sustainability operations at Dell, Bruno Sarda oversees sustainability governance, information strategy, measurement, and reporting, as well as supporting advocacy, policy, and objective setting across internal and external stakeholder engagement. Bruno also a consultant for the Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives where he advises a professional master’s program in sustainability practices. Rick Sather – Rick Sather is Vice President – Customer Supply Chain for North America Consumer Products at Kimberly-Clark Corporation. He has been with Kimberly-Clark for 27 years in various supply chain and operations roles in Fullerton, Ca and Neenah, WI.
Rick is originally from Wisconsin, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology from the University Wisconsin – Stout.
While leading the Customer Supply Chain team, Rick has established a Lean/Continuous Improvement culture driving exceptional outcomes for team members, customers and shareholders. He has also established leadership for employee engagement for the North America Consumer Products division. Rick is based at Kimberly-Clark’s operations headquarters in Neenah. He is the Executive Advisor to the African American Employee Network and New Employee Opportunity Network at Kimberly Clark.

Lisa Sauer – Lisa Sauer is Vice President Product Supply, Global Home Products & External Supply Solutions at Procter & Gamble. This role includes responsibility for the end-to-end supply chains for global consumer product forms as diverse as liquids, powders, paper, devices, aerosols, and unit dose, with manufacturing facilities in North & Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia. The product range includes regulated and energized products, formulated and assembled products, produced both internally and externally. In the United States this includes the brands Dawn, Cascade, Swiffer, Febreze, and Mr. Clean.
In her 25 year career at Procter & Gamble Lisa has worked in most of the Company’s business categories as well as in Corporate roles. She has worked in both Product Supply and Finance, in the United States and in China.
The focus of her current role is to make the supply chain a competitive advantage for the business through agility, cost structure, cashflow performance, innovation delivery, and excellent customer service.

Cindy Urbaytis, MA – Managing Director at the Institute for Supply Management™
Cindy’s current position is Managing Director of ISM with the primary responsibility of creating long and short-term strategy for customer business units. Her strategy revolves around raising the level and awareness of supply chain management among emerging and established professionals. Her success relies on her expertise in talent retention and management among these specific customer segments. Prior to her current role, Urbaytis was the Vice President of Sales & Marketing. She was responsible for supplier supported sales activities, ISM’s marketing strategy, membership growth, public relations and the sales of custom educational programs and assessment tools. Urbaytis oversaw the business development and management of the Shanghai office up until February 2013.
Cindy has a diverse background in sales and marketing that spans over twenty years in a variety of industries including the medical profession, self-move business and the toy industry.

Mark Vollrath – As Worldwide Director of Global Supply Chain Strategy and Systems for Colgate-Palmolive Company, Mark is responsible for supply chain business process systems and global initiatives such as Factory Performance & Reliability (Lean) programs. Additional responsibilities include the linking global supply chain functional strategies and ensuring overall global supply chain metrics are in place. Over Twenty years with Colgate-Palmolive have seen assignments across the supply chain from Procurement to Engineering, Customer Service and Packaging. Mark led the global supply chain efforts to develop new supply strategies which became a key part of Colgate’s major restructuring program, driving new organizational design requirements, and the initial strategies for a focused value chain and risk management planning. Prior to Colgate Mark spent time working for Pepsico and General Mills supply chains.

Ashley White – Ashley White is Manager of Logistics Sustainability for The Kroger Co., headquartered in Cincinnati, OH. The Kroger Co. spans many states with store formats that include grocery and multi-department stores, convenience stores and mall jewelry stores. The Kroger Co. operates under nearly two dozen banners, all of which share the same belief in building strong local ties and brand loyalty with their customers.
Ashley began her career in 2003 as an environmental engineering consultant to the Gateway Cities Council of Governments in California. In 2006, Ashley transitioned to an in-house environmental specialist position at the Port of Long Beach, contributing to the Clean Air Action Plan. In 2007, Ashley took a senior environmental engineering consulting position, focusing on goods movement, transportation and sustainability. Ashley joined Kroger in January of 2013 as the Logistics Sustainability Manager.
Ashley earned a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering at the California State Polytechnic University of San Luis Obispo, with a special focus on Mechanical Engineering. Ashley is a member of the Yokkaichi/Long Beach Sister City Association, Women in Transportation, and the Women in International Shipping and Trading organizations.
